Relax
When throwing a kick or a punch we should relax the body as much as possible until the point of impact. This allows for maximum speed which equals more power. It's also a great way to confuse your opponent because by relaxing the body before impact the technique becomes spontaneous to them. Give it a try!

I'm always reminding students to stay relaxed when performing any technique. I think it's the key to good performance in any endeavour. Tension is never beneficial, especially in the mind.
